Cho Oyu Team Looks for Clear Weather

16 May 2014 -

The tropical awakening and the warm sunshine at ABC feels like home. Slowly everyone is coming for breakfast, making their way in a lazy mood. There is a Sunday feeling around the camp.

It's not that we forgot we are at 5600 m, but after our second rotation, Advance Base Camp is like sea level for all of us.

We have completed our rotations, and by now we only have to wait for a good weather window. Two days ago we made our way to C2, after spending a night at C1. It was a long journey, thus enjoyable from the beginning. This year the route follows a different way than I remember and even C2 is located in a different spot. We had to climb two steep sections enjoy the pictures we made on our way. Dozens of pictures bear witness of it, but have few by now, and the rest once we return home and share with you having a beer and pizza.

The weather forecast seems to be good, but not for a short call. We have few days to spend at HOME, until we charge again for a summit push. It's gonna be a well deserved rest for all of us, we had a great time up there, but not without the obvious exhaustion.
Leaving to C1. Tomorrow C2. Depending upon wind. It's our last rotation before summit push. All fine and waiting at C1.
