Weather ALERT for K2, NP, GBI/II and Broad Peaks
Slightly good weather on Monday, then again Bad on Tue/Wed
Strong winds have gripped all main Peaks especially K2,
which may last for another 3 to 4 days. Weather may be good comparatively on
Monday, but it will be bad again on Tuesday evening. Climbers are advised to
take care on Tue/Wed. HANIF.
Earlier: Strong winds heading towards northern parts of Pakistan and
likely to grip all main Peaks on Sunday evening which may last for 4 to 5
days. These high/strong winds would cause occasional snow storms and poor
visibility. Current week (especially evenings/afternoons) will be Hard due to
strong winds but some short windows (half-day’s) likely during the period.

Weather is further improving
Some local clouds are still prevailing, just thin sheets of high clouds which
may cause some FOG at times, but No Stormy conditions & heavy snow is expected.
The winds speed is also decreasing gradually and more clearance likely from

Go ahead, Next 4 to 5 days are good
The weather is now CLEAR, don’t worry by some local
build-ups and GO AHEAD. Next 4 to 5 days (at least) are good, avail this
ALERT K2, NP, GBI/II and Broad Peaks
Be careful on Monday; A good Window starting from Tue/Wed.
All climbers (especially for K2) are advised to remain very careful on Monday
as High Winds would cause snow/showers and poor visibility over/around all
main Peaks. The strong winds are likely to abate gradually from Tuesday, then
improving the weather.
A good window of 4 to 5 days (at least) will start on Tue/Wed. HANIF.
Update 8/04/2007: Weather for K2, NP, GBI/II and Broad
Weather is much better, but Take care on Monday Evening.
The weather has improved suddenly but don’t take it 100 supportive as upper
winds are still very strong. Much of the day time on Sunday and Monday would
be better but take care on Monday evening/afternoon. HANIF.

Weather is Not advisable
especially for K2, Take care on Thu/Fri/Sat
100% Clear Weather is Not
possible in Next 4 Days (Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun) but some short interval windows (3
to 4 hourly) likely during first half of each day. K2 and adjoining Peaks are
expected to remain in the grip of very strong winds (speed nearly 100 knots,
direction SW) during Thursday evening to Friday evening. Climbers are advised
to be very careful on Friday as weather would be very bad due to SNOW over
peaks (west and south-west of K2) and poor visibility. Weather will start to
improve gradually from Sun/Mon giving a 3 days window. HANIF.
Update 7/30/2007: The prevailing weather (due to local
build-ups, as mentioned in previous report) is improving gradually, Tuesday
may be slightly better but likely to disturb again at evening/night. Climbers
are advised to remain CAREFUL on Wed/Thu as occasional Snow over all main
Peaks and showers in base-camps is expected on both days. While the upper
winds(+20,000 ft) are expected to remain very strong (near 100 knots, W/SW).
