From Summit Climb Outfitters

19 April -
Today, we were woken up early in our personal tents by the kitchen staff
bringing hot tea. Then we had breakfast, consisting of porridge, omelettes,
home made bread, and fried spam for the meat eaters amongst us. Then, our
20 Sherpas invited us to a prayer ceremony led by Lama Tashi to bless our
upcoming expeditions. The 2-hour ceremony was marked with lots of prayer
flags displayed around our campsite, frequent prayers, sharing of drinks
and food, and chanting by all. Another nice addition to our campsite today
is a new water filtration system. Thank you very much for following our
team's news. - Scott Smith
18 April
All members have reached Everest base camp. Everyone is doing very well.
We are enjoying our comfortable camp and having a few well deserved rest
days. We will send more photos tomorrow. Thanks for following our
expedition.

9 April -
This morning we set out very early from Kathmandu in a bus for the 4 hour
drive to the last Nepal town of Kodari at 1,770 metres/5,800 feet. We
cleared Nepalese customs and immigration, then hired local porters and
vehicles to carry our equipment and gear across the Bota Kosi River on the
Friendship Bridge, to Zhangmu, the gateway town in Tibet. All members are
feeling well and excited the expedition is underway!
